I showed my sister this tutorial for cloth baby shoes, and she has been keeping me updated. Her first "practice" shoe took about an hour, and the second took 20 minutes. Unfortunately, she made two right shoes, so she'll have to try another :). I am thinking I'll try and make a pair, but try to alter the pattern so they look more like this:
From This Etsy ShopIf I ever get around to it, I'll let you know! My mind is a bit preoccupied with a nasty thrift store chair we got this week that is calling to me to be recovered. I am thinking of using Jessica Jones' Green Sprig pattern in her Modern Flora collection. Despite the fact that it doesn't match anything else in our apartment (yet) I am highly drawn to it. It makes me want to redecorate. Our Master Bedroom bedding and drapes are freebies from a project my mom did a long time ago that was going to be tossed. Since I didn't have bedding, I took it. My hubby doesn't love the purple/pink theme. Wonder why?

I saw your comment on Robyn's blog and just had to check out your blog. You have some really cute projects going on! I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the potty training, too. Been there... still there. ;)
I know, aren't those other shoes SO cute? I tried making another shoe the other night to fit H but I sized it down way too small and now it fits N's doll! haha. And I LOVE the JJ fabric. I need some!
ReplyDeleteI love love LOVE that fabric, and I'm pretty sure that it can go in almost any room eventually. Green is such a wonderful color, and I love that all these vibrant greens are in right now. I look at this fabric, and I could see it going well with brown, pink, blue, or even the right shade of orange. But I'm a little nutso about mixing colors, so maybe don't take my advice...?
ReplyDeletePS-when you comment on someone's blog and they've got a word verification code you have to type in, do you find yourself trying to make a real word out of it? My word for this comment is "buted", which seems hilarious to me.
