BUSY!!!

I didn't get very far on my big project because I've had a lot of responses about the Firetruck onesies! I'm so excited. I've been best pals with the iron and my needle and thread this weekend. I had to go replenish one set of onesie sizes and the store(s) were ALL OUT of this one size. I am hoping they've restocked since Saturday. Any chance of that? I'm headed off today to hunt down some more.
And I totally forgot I had to speak in my church until Saturday when Mike asked me if I was done writing my talk. So that took some time too. Oops!
I did get SOMETHING done on my big surprise project. I'm sure these pictures will about give it away (Katie, Alisa, shhh! Don't tell!) but, maybe not.

It started with this old dresser, purchased for $20 off of Craigslist when we were first married. Someone's grandpa made this for them. And I just tore it apart. Hey, it was just sitting in my bedroom, holding an old pair of silk drapes I had (any takers?) and that is about it. Oh, and it was clashing terribly with my lovely bedroom set. So, I pulled out the drawers and I had Mike help me wrestle the drawer slat thingys off, except for the middle one.
Then we had to hammer out the old nails and remove the little pieces of wood that the drawers rested on. Are there technical names for these? I am sure there are. I sure don't know them.
Then we hauled it to my mom's house so we could use her staple gun (helloooo air compressor!) and mooch off of her paint collection.
I only got as far as stapling down two pieces of wood to fit in the dresser and adding a coat of primer. But we've got plans, people. Big plans. And that remaining drawer slider thingy? It is gonna be great.

Any guesses?

  4. A play kitchen?? I can't remember if you have already done one already or not....but it would make a FAB play kitchen. Whatever it will be, I can't wait to see it!
