The Rachel Wrap

021

Jess of Craftiness is not Optional showed us how to make this wrap-style shirt for the kiddos using an existing shirt as a pattern.  I am still in stash-busting mode, so the fabric choice here isn’t my favorite (I think I got 1 1/2 yards for $4 or something- too cheap to pass up), but it is still really cute on my baby.  I attached the ties a little lower than I should have, so I might change that still.  She thinks it is fun to untie the shirt and take it all off.  Funny, child, funny.

It was really easy to make.  Aside from the fact that I kept putting the bias tape on wrong.  That’s what I get for trying to do this super speedy fast while my baby was sleeping.

The sleeves are a little long, but it is kind of perfect for this time of year in Arizona (ignoring the fact that it is supposed to be pretty cold here these next few days).  The pleat that Jess shows how to make on the sleeves really adds a feminine detail that I love.

It has been a long time since I made something for the baby, even though several projects have been started for her.  I’m glad I got this one done!  Thanks Jess!

And if you are wondering?  Yes, her hair is messy like that all the time.  :)
