A Zig and a Zag

I’ve been battling the migraine monster on and off this week, but managed a few project finishes.  Here’s what I finally finished last night, while watching Knight and Day with my hubby.  That movie cracks me up.

It is hard to show you a good picture when my quilt holder is only 3 feet tall.  Plus an inch or so.  But the fact that she did it says a lot.

I followed my gut (and some of your advice) and went with polka-dots on the back. There were too many circle themes in the front to ignore the inevitability of polka-dots.  I kept it orange just to make the quilt predictable, but I really like it.

I just stitched about 3/8” away from the zigs and zags, following the edge of my regular presser foot.  It turned out great, I think.  A few terrible point-matching spots and a little binding issues, but overall, it is great.

Stats: 140 Half Square Triangles in random yellow and orange prints.  55 1/2” x 40 1/2”.  Orange Kona binding and the white is Kona Snow.  Backing is Crazy for Dots and Stripes.

I hope the migraine monster leaves you alone soon. I have them too and they are no fun!
