Slow and excited

I’ve been moving at a snail’s pace lately.  Partially because I got hit with some bug last week and can’t seem to shake it, and partially because I feel like the Goodyear Blimp.

I did manage to get some fabric cut for a quilt for little brother, although not all of it.  I’m telling you… snail’s pace.  Any thoughts on where to get a really light blue solid?  Everything I’ve found is too dark.

I do have something else for him though:

Isn’t that the cutest beanie ever?  Girls have all sorts of fun with flowers and such, but a bear is perfect for this winter newcomer.  Thanks to my niece for modeling it for me :)  The hat is from my sponsor, Little Bitty Boutique.  Kristy, the owner, was my roommate for a summer in college, although I left for the second half of the summer to escape from they guy I was dating and was too chicken to dump.  Hee hee.  Anyway, Kristy is the sweetest person I’ve ever met (and probably will ever meet) in my life and she had a very large impact on me even though we didn’t live together for very long.  I was so excited when I saw she had recently opened an Etsy shop

Needless to say, I’m excited for a newborn photo shoot with little brother sporting this get-up.  I’m already melting and he’s not even born yet!

Have I mentioned I’m trying for a VBAC this time around?  The last c-section was pretty traumatic for me, probably because of the circumstances, but I’d rather not do it again.  The whole day was kind of scary, so when I think about doing it again, all that anxiety comes back!  Babies.  The things you do for them.

  1. Such a cute little hat!

Good luck with your VBAC. I can't try again for one sadly...I tried with the last but couldn't. And you are so right, c-sections are NOT fun! So really, I so hope it works for you!

  2. You'll have your VBAC! I meant to tell you at rehearsal a few weeks ago, what I did was go as long as I could without the epidural and kind of played it by ear after that. I didn't want to have to be knocked out in case of another emergency C-section, so I knew I would want it at some point. I progressed very slowly so when the time came (6 hours after being admitted!!!), I was in no rush but in plenty of pain. It worked out great. Plus, I was glad to have it since my baby had to be sucked out of me and ripped me a new one in the process! Yowzers!

  3. I am awaiting my little guy to come in the next few weeks as well and feeling very plump too. I was going to have a VBAC until a blood clot was found a month ago. bummer. I had an Emergancy crash Csection with my last one because of a prolapse cord and the baby had many health problems. Nothin worse then having to recover from a failed vaginal delivery and c-section all at the same time. Too think I was hoping for a problem free pregnancy this time around. silly me. This little guy is looking good just his momma having trouble. I wish you the best :) yes, babies. We do a lot for them! Love the beanie

  6. Hi, I found you on pinterest and LOVE your blog. I had a VBAC with my second and it was so much better, good luck and as long as the doctors are happy with you doing it go for it! I had to drive an extra 50 minutes to get to a hospital that would do it though...

  7. cute hat, cute baby! VBAC's are amazing! i had an awful 24 hour labour followed by emergency c-section with #1, then had 6.5hour labour VBAC with #2! don't know if you can get it in the US but i read Juju sundins birth skills - amazing for a natural birth - i had no pain meds with #2 and it was so much better than being drugged to the eyeballs like my first birth. wish you the best of luck!
