I’ve had an old sweater of Mike’s sitting around for a while with the intention of repurposing it into a sweater dress. Well, that never worked out because it never got that cold this winter. We are in shorts again ‘round these parts.
So the sweater became a pillow.
I cut two squares out of the sweater, each about 16”. Then I printed the word “love” using the Segoe Script font (size 450- I had to tape the letters together), and traced it onto some white felt, then cut it out. I just pinned the felt to the sweater and then sewed around it with red thread using my sewing machine. You can tell my stitches aren’t perfect with the red, but I like the contrast. I then sewed up three sides, and left the bottom of the pillow open for stuffing.
I stuffed it with a pillow form (I’m sorry, but I can’t do the poly-fill stuff. Pillow Snob. Tip: I get my pillow forms from thrift stores; there are often good down-filled pillows that you can just take off the cover and air out for a while before you use them) and then hand-stitched the bottom of the pillow shut. I tossed it at Mike when I was done and he gave it a good squeeze. It is really soft, and I think it adds the perfect Valentine-y touch to our couch!

That is so cute Melanie, I love it!
