Taking Care of Bid-ness: No-Reply Bloggers

A lot of you like to leave comments, and some of you have questions.  Thanks!  But, with this crazy busy life of mine, it is easier on me and my family if I can just hit “reply” from my inbox to answer you.  A lot of times- and I mean 90% of the time- when I hit “reply”, the e-mail address is:

“no-reply-blogger@blogger.com”

I’m pretty sure that’s not you.  And as much as I would love to, I just don’t have time in my day to hunt down e-mail addresses or blogs or whatnot.

So, it isn’t that I don’t appreciate your comments, I just can’t reply back to you!  This is a real bummer when it comes to giveaway time, and a winner has no contact info.  I simply pick another name instead.

Do you know if you are a no-reply blogger?  Find out!

On your blogger dashboard, you’ll see your name on the top right with a little arrow next to it:

account name

Click on that arrow, and some info will pop up about you.  Your e-mail, blogger profile, and account settings:

blogger profile

If you click on Blogger Profile, you will have a chance to EDIT your profile.  If your e-mail is not a hyperlink, you should probably edit it.

e-mail available

When you edit your profile, you want to make sure your “Show my email address” box is checked.  You will also see a place to enter your email address.

  Share E-mail

So, what if you don’t want everyone to see your e-mail address?  Create a new e-mail just for these blog comment/giveaway purposes!  Easy peasy.  Just remember to check it often if you ask questions or enter giveaways.

If your “show my email address” is checked, and you have an e-mail address entered into the e-mail space, I can answer you no problem! YAY!

If you don’t have a blog, you can always create a dummy blog.  Blogger is free, and you don’t have to post anything if you don’t want to :)  I know people who have done this to make things easier.

I know some of you probably want to keep things the same and don’t want anyone to access your information.  That’s fine!  But if you want me to answer a question for you, click on “Contact me” up top and send me an ‘ol fashioned e-mail so I can help you out.

Does that help some of you?  I hope so!  There are some days where I am too busy to respond to everyone and everything, but I try my best.  Love you guys!

  1. Hey Melanie,
I actually just wanted to request a particular post, and I couldn't find a regular contact address. I was wondering how you find your fabric, particularly for quilting, where you get it from, if there is a difference in quality (like thread counts?? or something?) etc. I live in an itty bitty town and all I've got is what walmart has unless I drive an hour to a JoAnne's or a Hankock Fabrics. I am pregnant with my third child and we just found out it's a boy (we have two girls) and I'm having fabric confusion all over, I can't find, and don't really know where to look, to find cute but not too cute boy fabric to make his baby quilt.
