Fancy Shoes in 30 seconds

Has anyone else taken advantage of the 2/$5 flip-flop deal at Old Navy?  We have 4 pairs now (and still… we can’t find matches!), and I thought it would be fun to take that $2.50 pair of shoes and make it look a little spiffier.  Yes, spiffier.

A little Hobby Lobby pre-pleated ribbon and some hot glue= cuter shoes in 30 seconds.  Yes, I’m sure the ribbon will fall off after the first moment of aggressive play in the sandbox, but in the meantime, she’s loving her cute shoes.

And now the sister is bringing me her pairs asking for pretty shoes too! If I could find a match to either one, I have ribbon waiting for hers too. 

Oh, and in case you wanted to know the outcome of the skirt… oxy-clean and biz soaks and color-catcher later, it is still the same.  I still like it, I’ll still wear it, but it will definitely be for the casual settings now.  Ah, well, we tried.  Thank you a million for all your suggestions.  I’ll at least get the tutorial up on this blog soon!

And… Mike got accepted to two graduate schools here in AZ, and got a no from the one we applied to in Utah.  I’m sad I’m going to miss girl time with Erika (awesome girl) and Marni (she’d take the craft world by storm if she blogged) and my sisters-in-law and all my bloggy friends up there, but we’re blessed to have other options to choose from!
