Ok, so that’s a totally lame name for a quilt, especially when there is only one turtle print and the monkeys are totally shafted without any mention. But whatever.
I’m done! This quilt… gave me gray hair. I kept running out of thread, but I did a loose loopy quilting all over it, so I’m not sure why I used so much. Actually, I have a guess- the 2 (almost 3!) year old spent a lot of time sitting at my machine when I wasn’t around, and I kept finding thread all over. I’m thinking she sat there pulling the thread out until she got bored.
As promised, this quilt got super soft brown minkee backing. I got a huge pucker in it, though, and had to rip out a ton of stitching and do the section over again. Now it looks great, so I’m glad that the extra time was put in to fix it. I couldn’t find anything in-stash that was exciting for the binding, so I just stuck with the green solid. And I am glad I did!
When I draped the quilt over our porch railing to take a picture, I really fell in love with the simplicity of this quilt. It is easy on the eyes, it is so soft, and it is a great size for babies. I’m glad I did it!
Kacie, you may now start pushing.

The monkeys are going to come after you now :)
ReplyDeleteWhat color is the solid green? It looks like the green in Jocelyn's quilt
That is so cute! Love the minky backing!

ReplyDeleteLove the monkey-fabric! The colors scheme you used is just so beautiful - and I think the name fits the design perfectly. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I LOVE it! You are my crafting hero. And my hero in other areas as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you use batting as well or did you omit it because of the minky backing?
